The St. Philip's College CultureFest and Rib Cook-Off is an official Fiesta® San Antonio event held on the St. Philip's College MLK campus. It is a high-energy and kid-friendly festival featuring a rib cook-off, LIVE music, a car show, food and non-food vendors, and several grill raffles, all in one location!

We will have all sorts of food and non-food vendors for you to choose from at CultureFest. Don't forget to try one of the delicious foods that will be served from Gorditas, Funnel Cake, Mangonadas, and much more.

Please note that vendors are required to attend a mandatory vendor meeting prior to CultureFest on April 11, 2025, from 6 p.m.-7 p.m. or April 12, 2025 from 10 a.m.-11 a.m.

RIB COOK-OFF

Can you or someone you know make the tastiest ribs? Show us your skills at CultureFest as we award the best ribs in town.

Competition Entry fees:

  • $20 to submit for pork ribs (2 racks of ribs (10 bones) pre-sliced)

Contestants must submit a slab of ribs for the judges. If you are submitting for pork rib competition, you must submit a slab of pork ribs. Contact Paul Lede, plede@alamo.edu to sign up.

Dessert Bake Off

Show us your culinary skills by participating in our 2nd Annual Dessert Bake Off. Desserts should be submitted in a disposable container (such as a foil or plastic pan) approximately 9 inches in size.

Examples of acceptable desserts include:

  • Pies
  • Cakes
  • Cobblers

Beverage Competition

Show us your signature (non-alcoholic) drink by participating in our 1st Annual Beverage Competition. Examples of acceptable non-alcoholic beverages include:

  • Lemonade
  • Iced Tea
  • Fruit Punch
  • Agua Fresca

CultureFest Volunteers

CultureFest t-shirts are given to volunteers working at the event! We need student and faculty/staff volunteers for CultureFest. There are numerous opportunities to serve, including setting up the day before the event.
